As a Luxembourg employer who hires an apprentice under an apprenticeship contract (apprentissage initial), you can benefit from aid if you have hired apprentices for the year 2021-2022.

The amount of aid varies according to the diploma obtained at the end:

  • For apprenticeship contracts leading to a diploma of professional competence (Diplôme d'aptitude professionnelle - DAP) and the technician diploma (diplôme de technicien - DT), the training company receives an aid corresponding to 27% of the apprenticeship allowance;
  • In the case of a contract leading to the Certificate of Professional Ability (certificat de capacité professionnelle - CCP), the aid amounts to 40% of the apprenticeship allowance.

The training company is also reimbursed the employer's share of the social security contributions relative to the paid apprenticeship allowance. 

Therefore, it is important not to miss the deadline of 30 June 2023 for apprenticeship contracts that took place in 2021/2022 and to submit the application to the Career Guidance Department of the National Employment Agency (Agence pour le développement de l'emploi - ADEM).
