Register active partners/helpers with the CBE before 31/12/2024
A new obligation applies to companies and self-employed workers in Belgium. They are now required to register their active partners and helpers in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE).
Who is affected by this obligation?
This new obligation applies to companies and self-employed workers active in the construction and/or cleaning sectors.
Who needs to be registered?
- For legal entities: ACTIVE PARTNERS, this refers to anyone holding at least one share in a company as described above, who performs real activities in Belgium on behalf of that company without being registered as an employee for this activity at the time it is carried out. Partners who also hold a mandate within the company are required to register if they engage in operational activities within the company in addition to their management duties.
- For self-employed individuals: HELPERS, this refers to anyone who, in Belgium, assists or substitutes a self-employed worker in the performance of their profession without being employed by them under a work contract except in certain cases. Helping spouses are not subject to this registration requirement.
What information needs to be provided?
- First and last name of the active partner / helper
- National registry number or the number bis
- Start date and end date of the activity
Deadline for registration
- For active partners / helpers who started their activities before July 1, 2024: Registration must be completed by December 31, 2024.
- For new active partners / helpers: Registration must be completed upon starting the activity.
How to fulfill this obligation?
Registration is done via the CBE online platform: https://myenterprise.be/my_enterprise/.
A user guide for the platform is available. Login can be done using Itsme and/or an identity card reader.
Penalties
The INASTI announces administrative fines for incorrect or missing declarations, ranging from €500 to €4,000 per infraction.
